Says you.
I don't know about deliberately finding the right frequency, but the vibrations through the pillion pad definitely can have an effect.
Never needed anything more than my natural wit and charm to excite a young lady ! :P

Kinvig - Just make sure you don't achive the "brown note" frequency by mistake !

Heh, I find it quite difficult to be charming and witty over the wind noise (cos we're on a bike, in case anybody is getting worried)

But the amplitude has to be very high for it to work plus it has to be a directed soundwave. Well thats what ive read up on.

I know for a fact that my girlfriend can get slightly excited on the sv hehe. You can just feel the resonant frequency when it hits, I think its about 7000-8000 revs? But in her case, its just pretty much any revving, so lobng as she is thinking about it lol.

I've been told by one of my mates that you can make the bike vibrate if you get it at certain revs in certain gears - this is called the, "oscillating frequency" apparently. It's the reason why soldiers don't march in formation over bridges - the oscillating frequency makes the bridge wobble a bit.

Anyways back to the topic in hand. Here's what I was thinking:

1. Find the oscillating frequency of the bike.
2. Get the pillion passenger on the bike.
3. Ride at the oscillating frequency for a half an hour.
4. All going to plan, the vibrations will work a treat on the pretty pillion, give her a nice little treat.
5. Go for a drink afterwards, whereupon she'll be putty in my hands.

So, oscillating frequency...anyone know the approx revs per gear for this?

Thanks!!!!
How shallow of you, Mr Vig. You presume far too much: firstly that a few miles at some thousand rpm will do anything at all for a girl, and secondly that, even if it does, what you then offer afterwards will be either necessary or taken seriously. After an excellent main course, a dessert is often superfluous.

It's why, when out with that cad Peter Henry, I always preferred to ride my Buell rather than pillion on his Ducati 749. Of course, if he had a Monster, it might have been different.

Ping & Camilla, I jsut want to do something nice for anyone who decides to risk life & limb by being a pillion on my bike.

You've not seen my cornering ability! So anything to make the experience a little bit less unpleasent for the poor gal on the back is my way of trying ot thank them!

Besides, if i'm ever giving my gran a lift on my bike (she lives in the Isle of Man) I'll want to know what gear/rpm to avoid!!!!!!!!! ;o)
