I thought the dog one was funny. the second one I think was just plain cruel. I mean what the hell was the point in that, apart from having some sadistic fun

looks like they're throwing the cat against the wall!

that's not good - gravity or no gravity!

What do you expect from the same people who shot apes into space to never be seen again.

It looks like the guy is trying to see if the cat will try to hold onto the wall, without gravity to tell it that it's a vertical surface - but I can actually see a certain point to it...

... if every action has and equal and opposite reaction, in a weightless environment you just drift in whatever direction your original force sends you. There is nothing to influence your trajectory - but the cat can still manage to turn. Independant of an external influence.
You can see when it is drifting towards the 'floor' it twists and changes it's bodily direction - though this does end up in an ever increasing spin (and getting wrapped up in it's own lead by the looks).

So cruel, yes , and yeah, eversoslightly initially giggle inducing.

But I can actually potentially see some value to space research, astronaut training/skills/possibilties etc. How the hell do cats manage to do that? And once you take gravity out ot the mix it's even more fascinating.

Nothing to do with the above... I just thought of it, here is another cool video...clicky
