I think that some companies will cap the cost on the basis of an agreed limit on mileage.

Try Direct Line as they let named drivers build up no claims. Get your dad to insure it with you as the named driver

Having the your car insured by a parent and then you being named as a nemed driver is fraud. I know of someone that did that had a bump and the insurance company refused to pay out as they knew that the dad was not the main driver.

Forget TPFT on any car worth less then £1000 as by the time you will have paid the excess if you do have a claim and then increased premuims for the next 3 years it aint worth doing. Just go Third party only.

Add a parent to your policy as a named driver that will get your insurance down a decent sized chunk. I add my dad to my policy every year to make mine less. I am 27 now andadding him still makes it cheeper.

If you want a good cheep car thats cheep to run and insure try to get hold of a Seat Arosa 1.0 there great little cars, gp2 insurance and do about 45 to the gallon. My GF has one.

the only thing you have to look forward to when you get old is cheap car insurance, and a free tv licence i'm about half way and am just about getting my car insurance to a decent amout.

What he said.

Going the named driver route is good, but unless you're with direct line, you'll end up my age with no NCB, in spite of several years safe driving.
