Ok here is my twisted logic on all of this!
![]() As Fizz mentioned I do think both Marco and Loris are gonna get in to this party although neither will become champion. All of the main contenders have had setbacks and poor results through the season but seem to be about to kick on again. I cannot see Nicky's drop in form/bike performance continuing to the end of the season. Although I do not think he will actually win another race. I would back Loris for Japan, Valentino for Portugal and oddly a battle between Dani Pedrosa and Marco for Valencia...Marco toughing it out for the win. I think Nicky is going to throw a hook with a real short chain, on to the back of Valentino's M1 all the way to the end, as after all that is all he needs to do. He will simply just track Rossi to the championship laurels...and for once maybe a real situation that no matter how well he performs.....Valentino will be able to do nothing about it. So yeah my money would be on Hayden,(though it would please me to see Valentino turn it around.) |

I think the trouble is if Rossi is in the lead and Hayden sits in 2nd place, he is going to have to battle with Capirossi, Melandri and Pedrosa. Also if they havent fixed that clutch in his bike and he gets a dodgy start and ends up mid pack he's got an awful lot of work to do to catch up again, it makes his job IMHO harder. especially if Rossi gets in front and disappears off into the distance. I read in MCN ( whether its true or not ) that Hayden has said that HRC have a whole fleet of people working on his clutch problem in order to try and fix it.

Rossi. And he'll win it next year too on the 800cc. You heard it here first.

oooh the scores on the doors are levelling out? What has happened to all of those so convinvced in Rossi's mission? Come on the last 3 races he outscored Hayden by 30 points? You dont think he can pull back another 21 to level? Or 22 to win? Over the next 3?

Did he really outscore him by 30 points? Voted hayden but would love rossi to win - he's simply been the best rider out there this year, never gives up and you'd always back him in a last lap scrap.
For me hayden just hasn't rode well enough to be a champ - barring bad luck on rossi's part, and pedrosa's to some extent, he'd not be in the lead. Of course a champ does need consistency but rossi's lack of it has been nearly all bike related. |

Jonboy99...But they have all been battling with constant tyre and chassis problems, that's the constant evolving nature of riding a prototype machine. Constant development. You overlooked Loris in your list of unfortunates, who despite still there being a number of tracks where Bridgestone's simply do not work....he was looking very strong indeed and on "arguably" the most sorted bike in the category. All of Ducati's problems have been down to tyres once again!
![]() Fizz....Apparently Honda's wisdom has been to relocate the clutch of Hayden's RCV to a more central position of the motor. This new location is subjecting it to horrendous heat levels which the friction material it appears just cannot cope with. Hayden has a genuine problem with the bike he is being asked to ride and he is not using this as just an excuse. HRC being the arrogant twots they are will of course insist on making the new set up work. Earlier in the season when Rossi was having major problems with the handling of his M1...the decision was made to once more use the 2005 chassis! The team actually listening to the input from the rider which does not appear to happen with Honda. |

I agree HRC wont want to loose face and admit they cocked up so they'll make it work, but how long before they get it right... Could cost them the championship..

Dodgy clutches certainly buggered up the honda's season in bsb last year, so might not be easy to fix.
Peter, I didn't forget Loris, I jsut want rossi to win and not him ![]() ![]() |
