Another 1st Off

It really was the weekend for it, wasn't it!
I'm just glad that I was out in the country and didn't have to contend with London traffic!
I think that we'll just have to look at them as battle scars! Hmmmm.....

as mentioned, it's made of cheese - cheddar's a bit too tough though, i'd vote for melting mozzarella...

Did exactly the same as you regarding bending the rear brake pedal, I used a piece of metal tubing (scaffold pole) and bent it back with no issues...!

Are you willing to take the risk... ???

Thats the big question.

Its a casting - so doesnt like bending - but I do have scaf-pole around

Tempting - been quoted about £40 for a new one - might just leave it as is, get them to change it at 1st service and get the old one back - then I can play with straightening and if it breaks, nothing lost, if it doesnt then I have a spare.

Mine was bent back into shape the first time. Difficult to do mind... me on one side keeping the bike on the deck, bodybuilding mate on the other bending it back up!) Didn't look 100%, but in terms of the way it felt to use, it was indistinguishable from standard. Then when it went down, it sheared off along the "bend", so it had clearly weakened it.

Done on a warm afternoon when the bike had been in the sun all day, but I didn't heat it with a blow torch or anything like that.

That was my thought exactly. Had it snapped, I would of done the "screw and bolt" fix anyway and as it stood, it was barely rideable and looked awful, so I didn't really have a lot to lose.
