If you really want induction roar - remove the snorkle and raise the front of the tank

Here is the airbox with the hole left by the snorkle

and here is the snorkle

You can get a tank raising kit from Chewy - see here

Chewys Stuff

Now your neighbours will know what noise is

Great induction roar on my SV (03, K&N and 3/4 GForce system) but nothing compared to the 06 636 I test rode at weekend. All quiet and a bit whistely below 8k but then OMG, the gates of hell are opened!

yep, even the 2003 B1H's tend to roar rather loudly at you then... by which point your holding on for dear life as well!

My old J1 6r sounded awesome above 10k too - still remember finishing the running in period and redling it in 2nd gear from 6k - the noise and acceleration (was my first bike) made me giggle for a week afterwards!

Mr Toad - does removing the snorkel make any major changes to the fuelling, or run the risk of debris getting in the airbox?

No diffs to the fueling, although I had it cough once or twice around town when on the overrun

As for debris - well on a naked bike with the tank raisers fitted, the airfilter is clearly visible - so much so that I decided that if I got caught in a downpour, it probably wouldn't do it any good, so I fitted a SV1000 snorkle - same as the 650 one, but with 4 intakes instead of 2

I ocasionally used to pop the snorkle out if the weather forecast was good

Oh, and I once found a dog end on the filter - not sure if it got sucked in whilst I was crawling around the London streets, or whether some Soho Massive joker put it there on purpose
