Try this one - "Audition" (not seen Hostel though)
http://www.mandiapple.com/snowblood/odishon.htm I've seen my fair share of splatter movies, but for some reason this one made me wince in a few places. |

For a filmof 2 halves it sounded so promising. Loads of nudity int he first half then loads of gory death in the second half. It was OK but not really amazing. The best horror film I've seen in a long time is The Devils Rejects by Rob Zombie. Now that's a top film.

I thought Hostel was a good movie idea but rather over indulged in the gore, Descent was pants but slightly redeemed by being a British movie.
Silent Hill was interesting.. very surreal. |

This really disappointed me. It was billed as the goriest movie ever and you get a few scenes with skittish camerawork. Not happy I was.
![]() Saw was a brilliant film, but not for the 'gore' (images of already dead people doesn't count as gore) it just worked. And that ending. BAM. Saw 2 however, annoyed me a little, dunno why, it just didn't do it for me. I am looking forward to seeing Pulse when it comes out on dvd so I can 'borrow' a decent copy from the interlimewirenet. ![]() |

Takashi Miike? I've only seen one of his films "Ichi The Killer", bought it on DVD without seeing it first. OTT manga cartoon style gore - blood spurting everywhere, characters sliced in half. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0296042/ |

pulse is good, but its doing the thing alotta films do nowdays, all good till the ending and then end it in like 2 mins
sorry for spoling pulse but its a great example it all builds to the point where they try and shutdown the system, they fail, then it ends with the citys are theres now (with the camera pointing at them living in huts) and u think, what, is that it, they dont do anything, huh, ive noticed alot of films do that nowadays, the only decent film ive seen with a good story line and a good ending recently is V For Vendetta |
