Sorry they got you Ed but at least it was the bank's money and not yours.
Have been racking my brains on this and I think it's a petrol station. One that I use a fair bit but there have been some new staff. Hmm. Good point about covering the key pad.

if you've ever used it in a cash machine it could've been cloned without there being anything obviously up... Checking balances or whatever. Most UK ATMs are pretty vulnerable, because it takes so long to replace or revamp the machines when a weakness comes up- it's faster to develop a new cloning trick than it is to prevent them

I always hold my wallet over the keypad while I input the pin. I use my middle finger instead of the index so that the other fingers are aslo obscuring their view. A few years ago I had a problem with a GF who was took money from my account and as the card got returned I couldn't claim it back...

The Sopranos had a recent episode about this and it showed the card cloner and it being handed over. It looked just need a normal card reader.

They done my credit card and I had not used it for over a year so how they got my details I don't know,

My bank cottoned on right away as transactions were made on my card in England, Russia & Italy plus multiple internet stuff within hours of each other. This means my credit card somehow become public domain with multiple criminals in multiple countries all trying to use it.

Scary
