Just to play devil'd advocate, what is the point of a slipper unless you are racing and need to get away with some mistakes?
Matching revs to wheel speed has always seemed to me to be one of the skills of biking, and learning to get it right and banging the clutch out with nary a twitch from the back wheel one of the most satisfying bits about riding. Same reason I wouldn't want an automatic bike - it's just to cover up your own deficiencies innit? ![]() |

If you're riding really hard, it means that the bit of processing power that's currently taking care of the blipping, is available for more essential purposes like Panic, and Avoiding Thinking About Your Own Fragility.

Not being funny but have you tried changing down less? You might find that you don't actually need to change down as much as you are and you might be smoother and faster to boot. On the roads round about me I can quite happily sit 3rd - 4th - 3rd - 4th all day long on the SV |
