Dreams?

I have lots of dreams where I'm either running or fighting for my life against something or someone much more dangerous than me.

Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose.

Sometimes I wake up before the end of the dream and don't find out what happened. That annoys me.

Although I did have a 'part 2' dream YEARS back... That was kewl...

Some of my dreams have very nasty supernatural atmospheres (something very evil around) and I'm practically frozen in terror.


(I used to write down my dreams until my mum found my book and banned me from watching any fantasy/sci-fi stuff and playing D&D ... obviously I'm older now and its up to me... )

So doctor... what's the prognosis? Will the men in white coats be coming soon?

Are you sure you were dreaming ??

Isn't that how you spend certain weekends - running around with dangerous weapons trying to inflict damage on people ?? :P

Sorry for the delay in replying, I saw the post a few days ago & just never got around to replying. Consider this thread revived

Fighting is flight or flight response... the flight bit:

To dream that you are a runaway, indicates that you are dealing with issues of belonging and acceptance.
Running away from someone, indicates an issue that you are trying to avoid. You are not taking or accepting responsibility for your actions. In particular, if you are running from an attacker or any danger, then it suggests that you are not facing and confronting your fears.
Running alone, signifies that you will advance to a higher position and surpass your friends in the race for wealth. Alternatively, you may be running from some situation or from temptation.
Running with others, signifies festive and prosperous times.
Escape from jail or some place of confinement, signifies your need to escape from a restrictive situation or attitude. On the other hand, it may mean that you are taking an escapist attitude and are refusing to face up to problems that are not going away.
To dream that you escape from injury, from an animal, or from any situation, signifies your good health and prosperity. You will experience a favorable turn of events.

The fight bit:
To dream that you participate in a fight, indicates inner turmoil. Some aspect of yourself is in conflict with another aspect of yourself. Perhaps an unresolved or unacknowledged part is fighting for its right to be heard. It may also parallel a fight or struggle that you are going through in your waking life.
To see others fighting in your dream, suggests that you are unwilling to acknowledge your own problems and turmoil. You are not taking any responsibility or initiative in trying to resolve issues in your waking life.
To dream that you are fighting to the death, indicates that you are unwilling to acknowledge a waking conflict or your own inner turmoil. You are unwilling and refusing to change your old attitudes and habits.

The evil/supernatural ones:
To dream that someone or something is evil, denotes a repressed and/or forbidden aspect of yourself. This part of yourself may be seeking recognition and acknowledgment. Alternatively, evil may also be a reflection of your strong, negative emotions like hate, anger, etc.

On a sightly different subject, since one person has done so already, should any .org members require it, feel free to consider me the forum shrink.

I get it from friends & family all the time anyway, so what's some more eh?

For those worried about dumping a load of crap on me that I don't need, my view is simple that it helps me put my own problems into some sort of perspective. It prevents me thinking things like "Why is it only me that goes through this....?" etc.

Just please bare in mind that I have a life, and might not be able to respond immediately

As I always do, nothing will be repeated (not even to the Mrs), it usually goes in one ear, I respond, then it disappears somewhere in the ether. Don't ask me where, I don't chase it!

Geez, I'm starting to feel like Kinvig more & more every day... maybe that Ommm yesterday wasn't such a good idea Just thought I'd make a decent contribution to the community, outstanding citizen that I am

Yes. It depends on if they were born blind or if it happened due to infection/accident etc though.

If born blind, dreams are only ever audio, although I have heard of cases where the subject percieved smell/taste in the dream too.

If blindness was developed after birth, the images are stored, and can be used by the subconcious to display whatever message it wants to get across.

There's been numerous studies on it, probably one of the better ones is Kerr & Domhoff, 2004.

I dreampt that I was being chased by a giant spider. I had just pinned it and cut it in half when I woke up.

It was big and hairy.
