Whats up with the SV?
Err, it's 40min away by car and I can't park there?

Scooter

**** easy to ride, so when your extremities are cold, theres less for you to have to control. Also fix easy and hold up suprisingly well in a crash.

Unlike yesterday hey kate
lol, did you actually end up using that bike? I am still trying to dry out my gear from yesterday!
Went to mine, picked up my bike, then got to the new services on the A21 and decided that a trip to J&S in New Malden was a far better proposition!! Well, the though was there.

Having done the M25 & M40 for the past 4 months, I certainly prefer the bike, but not when the weather is really bad - I got seriously soaked 5 times last week, and it isn't fun riding along in the spray being unable to see very much. Because of my impending leg op I've bought a car and am going to have to get used to that for probably the next 9 months or so.
OK so it added about 15 mins to the journey time, but then you can knock off the time it used to take to get changed at both ends, so I reckon it's about even. Generally the M25 is only really bad on a Friday afternoon - took me 3 hours to get home once when I had the car.
Air con, windscreen wipers, radio/mp3 player - I could get used to it without too many problems

For me motorcycling is about fun, so I rarely commute on the bike when the weather is ****ty.
My car has nice comfy seats, climate control, a superb stereo and its an auto (so creeping along in traffic is a doddle). All in all its a very nice place to be, plus I've never been in any great rush to get to work anyway

Totally agree.
Gotta be the car. Leave the quality transport in the garage and save it for FUN

I wish I had a car for those days when It's icy. Rain no longer bothers me as long as I've got all my waterproof gear and a spare pair of socks and undies if I get a real good soaking. It's all about being prepared! That said when we get ice I really hate commuting but I don't have the option of a car seeing as I don't have a licence to drive one. Hopefully though I can work from home if it gets too bad. If I had the choice I would love to drive a car in the winter.
