Getting multiple opinions can be good, but you can check your valve clearances yourself. This gives you a definite answer about at least one part of this. If they're out of tollerence, then the 2nd garage can sort them out as according to you this has been done already. Again, colour of plugs can tell you quite a bit

If they really have done a leak-down test and given you those results then it isn’t BS, the rings are shot!! But I do suspect they might be fibbing!!

As people have said, check the valve clearances, you can do this yourself, all you need is some feelergauges, they are ~£5 for a set … if the clearances are within tolerance and the bike is running fine, then forget about whatever either garage is banging on about and it just ride the thing!!

Vlave clearances have been done.
I would ride it if i had a working front brake..

Paws, when its all back on the road we should go out for a ride! Good to hear its not a bad as you thought! If you need a hand with the front brake let me know, I fitted braided lines to mine and new pads, made them feel a bit more positive!

Awww thanks hun, be nice to meet up with ya again...as for front brake help..well il do another post (cause its an issue in itself) and if anyone can help there...
