To me its just an extension of WIMA [womens international motorcycling association] and is no different to something like the Pan Clan which has formal rules over joining. I think we're so lax on the SV forum and welcome anybody we forget others arent :P

And tbh there is some sense in it. I knew a few female riders that felt intimidated by some of their male mates/partners. Sometimes its simply just nice going for a ride without someone fueled by testosterone and the need to race everywhere or prove themselves - and to women learning when confidence can be an issue it can make a difference. :P

But then I was part of the Canberra womens motorcycling group so I know how this can benefit by being organised. They actually lobbied ALL the dealers in Canberra to get deals on kit/bikes/services for their members. It wasnt blokes were banned - they were quite welcome on rideouts and meets its just the idea was to provide support to female riders and help if needed.
Feisty have a forum called bikegirl http://www.bikegirl.co.uk/ although it is run by and aimed at women, men are welcome. Have no problem with websites aimed at a certain audience, but to say ONLY .. is well some sort of 'ciest I am sure

If someone was to set up a website that specifically said "White Males with Blue eyes and blond hair 18-35 ONLY" there would be hell to pay!!! :P

If you want your equality women then make it equal, don't segregate yourselves

I'm gonna go burn a jockstrap!!!

You're damn right- obviously they'd be wanting to appeal to aryan supremacists, but they're going to attract an awful lot of homosexuals That's a great mix for a night out!

Not if they use hotmail. I tried to join only to be told my e-mail domain was blocked!

*Wonders how many prospective members have been lost because of this*

Yahoo is blocked as well. So guess me no join because Im not allowed to use work email address for signing up to forums.

You may want to point that out Darren that blocking the most popular email domains isnt going to encourage membership.
