Those parts would be where Spidey is speeding up away from the lights, and where he slows down to them again. I've seen you!!

Ha ha ha. Caught again Spids.
Ah no, I was in a right grumpy mood yesterday. I spend my whole life scanning about for cop cars, and I even saw that one that reefed me, but I figured that it was too far behind to be able to spot me. But spot me he did.

As to why its illegal... Christ knows. They drive those massive Hardly Movingsons a fair bit, and I wouldnt like to see one of those wobbling up beside my car.

It tends to be the more gangsta types that are on Jap Jobs, so they probably want just an excuse to have a word with them anyway.
Its funny, they must get a lot of lads taking off, they approach you very gingerly and smiley, and then get down to brass tacks one they have you where they want you.

Whenever we have friends and family from US visit us they are pretty shocked at how the bikes filter in moving and non moving traffic

Not very land-of-the-free is it?

Also adds to america's stance on environmental issues perhaps? Surley its greener for bikes to filter through and get to their destination quicker, rather than sitting in traffic and polluting a little bit more?

It is a silly rule - i can see the point of it, saftey etc etc, and i guess politness, but then the great advantage of having a bike is that you dont sit in traffic, and congestion is reduced.

Not being able to filter completely negates the legal (over here at least) benefits of having a bike for practical purposes IMO. If filtering was illegal (and prosecution of it here was enforced) I'd only use the bike as a weekend toy. Once you factor in getting it out of the garage, getting togged up etc. it'd take longer than a car to get somewhere if you couldn't filter (unless you really took the mick with your speed, in which case, you may as well filter illegally too).

I've never understood it when I've seen bikes sat in traffic not filtering. Just doesn't make sense to me.

I dont think i'd cope with having a bike but not being allowed to filter on it.
Rode behind a plain clothes police car with siren blasting and one blue light flashing on top this morning, wanted to ask the Gsxr next to me if it would be OK to filter past it as it was holding up my progress

Filtering is illegal in Germany, seems Hans liked to throw open his door when stuck in traffic on the autobahn, and was taking out too many bikers....so did they make drivers look before opening doors? nope, just banned filtering.

Irony is now with so many cars having aircon, the doors (and windows) stay closed so filtering should really be re-introduced.

Bingo. That's exactly what I said. And, weekend toys are what bikes end up as most of the time in this country. Very few people commute on them (like I do).
Then the guys taking them out on weekends end up driving like nutcases, since they havnt been out for ages, but they are not driving every day, so they make mistakes etc etc.

Its crap basically.
I still filter. Everyday, its just a matter of not getting caught, and trying to slither out of it when you are caught.
