Sorry to hear about your off.

At least it was on the track where an off is relatively safe. More importantly it hasn't put you off!

Make sure the scaphoid is treated well. They are a notoriously difficult bone to get to heal, the fact that it was diagnosed straight away is a good thing though. My GP kept telling me I'd just bruised my wrist and strained it. It wasn't until 3 months later that I convinced someone that something wasn't right. I ended up having a bone graft. I'm sure yours won't be as problematic due to the early diagnosis.

Heal fast and enjoy fixing the bike up.

(I'm using quite a bit of back brake as I found it considerably settles the bike when braking hard.)
Me too - I think its a naked thing though as i would never have the confidence to do it in a race position. But I think you are right - if your back end is still moving about and you are tipping in then your suspension would have been unsettled = less grip??? Must be a bugger to type now though Hope you are back on it soon.

thanks I was lucky to have one of the best orthopedic surgeons in town treat my broken bones. The scaphoid is held into place by a metal plate and 2 other rods that protrude from my skin in an awful manner. I feel like a cyborg...

Yes.. for some reason the stock shock present on my bike is very hard, particularly in the damping. I believe this made matters worse. And as far as my typing is concerned, I wish it was the only difficult thing! You can' guys imagine what is the true joy of some simple things, especially those one does in a toilet! (and I don't have a girlfriend. Bugger...)
