I got the **** absolutely taken out of me by a guy on a GS1200 at Knockhill. Still, at least he'd taken the panniers off

I was going to ask you the same question... I test rode a GS and absolutely hated it... It was very vibey, and the performance was not what I'd hoped. The VFR in comparison was lovely and smooth and just wanted to get up and go. Strange this is, I really wanted to like the GS, I quite fancied one at the time. It just goes to show that people do find different things either excite them of switch them off with a bike.

What I will say is that the GS was comfortable (apart from the vibes), the seating position was good, clocks are placed in a very good position, and the tank range is good.... Can't get on with those indicators though

£2.5k is low indeed for the model year. Best one of the 800's as well!

I have been on many a GS, each time I've tried to like it but didn't. It's too bulky and the wind protection (for me) was hopeless. Prefer the VFR/Blackbird as a road based tourer, but then the GS wasn't really designed to be that.

Quite !! I'm gradually getting used to them - although I went to hit the horm yesterday evening & indicated left instead

'The Book' (can't remember which one exactly) valued mine at £2850 with 16k on the clock !!

I mean come on, who is gonna have a VFR & do 3200 miles a year ? !!

I really like the look of the GS, a lad at work has one.

Whilst I was out on sunday the only other bikes I saw on the road where GS1200 / 1150's.
They both waved too

So they are the bikes that were featured in 'The long way round'? Not bad looking machines, a bit to tall for my weeny legs. I'd love to take one off road though.
