Apparantly it will do nearly 90 in SECOND

Are you the guy that rang me on thursday night? if so how much did the insurance quote you on an SZ mate?

Everything. Other than a few cosmetic parts they share nothing. Different frame, engine, suspension, brakes, they're not the same bike at all.

650 ~ 70bhp, 1000 anywhere between 100 and 110 depending on who you ask.

A bike is a bike and they all work the same, but any 1000cc bike is a big step for a learner, and, as I'm sure you appreciate, it's when you've got your licence that you start learning.

Wasn't me mate, sorry!

So does the 1000 have better suspension and brakes (the two obvious "budget parts on the 650) than its little sibling?

Yep - better brakes & suspension - brakes are from the pre-radial brake GSXR750.

I still woldn't recommend it over the 650 for a newbie though
