I have a full micron system with baffle removed. K&N Filter. Snorkel Removed. Power Commander and it sound superb. However earplugs are highly reccomended as you can feel a pressure difference under my helmet from the induction. But i just love the sound so its worth it.

Ooh ta!

Funny, I don't think of mine as loud. But then, I'm always sitting in front of the can exit point. It was bloody loud when I had no snorkel though.
no, not loud at all. Can you hear all the car alarms you set off over the top of the exhaust? Nope! :P
Actually, I've only seen that happen once.

There is a VW Golf which parks in my carpark at work that I manage to set off every day just by starting my engine - god knows what it would do if i did a 'driveby'

Yep, I agree... If I could have mine sound much like it does, only quieter, I'd jump at it.

oh, and runnning the bike with a can and a different intake will damage the engine. Causes the bike to run lean, and slams the exhaust valves shut, reducing their life quite alot standard can does make a nice noise too, just a bit muted. i don't think its as bad as people make out, but sounds amazing without it! Does it need to be a suzuki dealer to remap the ecu? i'm keen to hear some Svs round manchester to hear how my exhaust compares, but i've only briefly seen one yellow curvy in months. Bummer!

Thats not strictly true mate. I have a power commander and ran it on a dyno. It now accounts for the extra air made available.

Even "just" with a race can, the SV will give you plenty of bang for your buck! Full systems are generally louder, definetely so at high revs.

Airbox mods is the way to go for more induction roar. Imagine that sounds bloody good with the airbox right underneath your lid. Nice.Would get a PC111 if going down that route.

Does anybody still dump the airbox for individual filters anymore? On a FI SV?

Eh... What? Running lean, yes, can cause overheating, poor burning, all sorts of problems- burnt valve seats the most likely result, but it can be as bad as holed pistons in a really lean bike. But slamming the valves shut?
