In this arguement i'd question, house wife or working wife?
Housewife should do all of the previously mentioned work as its their "occupation" and is listed as such on CV's etc. Perhaps you should draw up a contract since you sound like you're paying her for these services. After 12 months continued service a written contract is not required and would be admissible as a verbal contract which is just as binding. Submit her first written warning suggesting she has a union representation to acompany her. If this behaviour continues I believe in a court of law you may have rounds for dismissal under gross-misconduct. |

When I was a child, each room at home had a bell push and I am led to believe that within the kitchens and pantry there were boards that would light up for the appropriate room that desired the attention of the household staff.
Obviously with modern labour saving devices, we have no need for household staff and the cleansing of my household comes within the remit of the wifely domestic duties. I am a modern man and commend my wife for her house keeping. But in recent years she has started to slack. I have dispensed with old fashioned bell pushes as it required me to leave the comfort of my armchair. I now summons her with a quick shout of "Oi!, Get that backside of yours in here" I notice her pastry has become a little soggy, I now have to wait for my dobie to be returned to the wardrobes. I am becoming a tad worried that she may have found a key to the cellar as I am convinced the best gin is being consumed in greater quantities than for previous years. Is this the slippery slope. Have I given her too much luxury living and she is now taking advantage. Why does she feel the need to shop, when we can place an order for delivery of the items we require. That would give her more time to her domestic chores without the distraction of other unnecessary potential purchases to distract her. And the time I waste returning her frivolous purchases. I despair at modern teaching. When I recently visited my daughters school, they had abandoned domestic science as a subjected for teenage girls. It is no wonder modern females grow up having no idea how to look after their husbands and households.

Timwilky, the only question I have for your situation, is how often does the milkman visit your house?
Sounds to me, like he's visiting a few times without actually depositing anything you would want to drink. :P |
