Hmm, I have my doubts about that, they're not at all tight and not all that strong either. No offence to your mate, I just know how easy it is for people to make wrong conclusions- I was told several times in A&E once that I would probably have died, but certainly been messed up, in a pushbike crash if I'd not been wearing a helmet... Thing is, I wasn't

Well my life's even more at risk now?
![]() While they are very rigid, because they're attached at the bar ends as well. I think the chances of getting trapped in them are remote in the extreme. I would say less chance than having your hands trapped in Muffs (Nice!) Also to note the bar ends are now slightly wider by the addition of a heavy weight spacer. Funnily enough, I put mine on today as well. Your photos of the instructions definitely helped.
I reckon there's almost no chance of getting caught behind them. It might hurt but I reckon they're definitely coming off with me if I go flying. I think if I angle the levers a bit better I can make it so they don't touch the fairing at all. I'll have another look on Saturday, I didn't even want to look at the bike after spending all day working on it. |

Glad it helped someone
![]() Did you get them 2nd hand without instructions? I was thinking of loosening the clip ons and angling them back, but the nut started to round off so gave up. I think my levers are already angled well enough for the best lock. Despite what you and Northwind say, I reckon they're on there pretty damn solidly, (but still plenty room to not get trapped in them) |

Would they not twist around the bar, though? That's what the ones on the DL I tried did...
I can see you breaking all your fingers in a crash, mind ![]()

Hmm. Wonder if that DL had some other guards then, they weren't wrapped round the lever mounts like that- they wouldn't totally rotate, but they could be pushed around.
