Also I noticed that alot of the bays in Soho square had at-least one car parked in them.
If I park my bike in a car bay do I get a fine? Even if I'm paying a annual ticket price and no bike bays are available?

I've been told (by car drivers) that cars are allowed to park in bike bays out of controlled hours in Westminster. Presumably this will stop. Basically, it's just another con. *******s.

will cars that park in bike bays have to pay the fee for every bay that their car falls within? that should stop them using up OUR spaces

£1.50 a day is a lot cheaper than a regular space!

yes but if they mark out bays for individual bikes (which I've seen before in London) then a car parked across several of them would have to pay the fee for each one...or something like that

Grrrrrr, this sucks!!

Part of the joy of riding a bike in London for me is knowing that I can park in any bike bay free of charge.

Mind you, if we all told them to shove it, can a motorbike be clamped? (never seen it before)

EDIT: Brain engaged now......simple disk lock would do it

Providing that no wheel of your bike is touching the ground (can't be resting on a brick either) then it's my understanding that a ticket can't be issued for a parking offence — you'd need some sort of modified centre-stand to accomplish this, but I'm sure it could be done.

Have you ever parked in westminster? even if you took up 10 spaces it would still be cheaper!
