Too dear.A 99 bike would need to be one owner and very low mileage with good service history and totally immaculate to command that price.Shop around, and never pay the asking price.

They do seem to be asking for a bit much. I got a mint condition SV650S on a Y plate for £2000 with only 4000 miles on the clock from a dealer for £2000 in August.

Bloody good bike to get IMO. Im a new rider, and the SV is treating me kindley.

BTW if the foks are just superficial i.e. laquer coming off, then they can be painted (I had mine repainted).

Good choice!

Matt

[EDIT my 99 sv was 1450]

Had a look at a couple more examples yesterday (both trade), both 2002 curvies with around 15k on the clock, very good condition and both for £2999.

I know it's quite a bit cheaper to go private - but I do like the extra security, and ability to use the old credit card with trade bikes (as well as being able to part-ex the gs500)

Anyway, i'm pretty sure I can get the first bike down to £2K or below so fingers crossed.

ta for all the thoughts peeps!

Dave

Hope all goes well, and remember to factor your time & travel into seeing other bikes, paying an extra hundred quid or so at the end of the nday is no great loss! But it is a track day or two...
