Yep indeed i did mean TRE, i realy could not remember it so just put TPS instead. Both can be done but the TPS adjustment has to be done with a multimeter on a curvey while on the pointys if you put the speedo into dealer mode it can be adjusted with marks on the speedo.

Dont know, there is a way to do it but ive never done it. I think its indicated in the haynes manual.

It's in the factory manual. I would recommend a digital meter as it's easier to figure out fro this job.

TPS will affect ignition timing as Sid says - that's what it's there for.

Nikko G pack might be clever than you think - maybe it works by ESP as it has no connections to the ignitor! I agree, it probably contains 2 wires with tape round the ends, bit like my connector block.
