If ti was me, i'd knock a hundred off the speed and if it works then I'd forget about it, but then I'm not exactly a power overclocker...

well at a strugle, ive managed to get it to run at 3GHz with the ram at 5-5-5-15. im running orthos now, its been stable for an hour i want to see 8 hours, then ill be happy. Ive also re seated the cpu and cpu cooler, as a few people have been having problems with there cooler being put on too tight (and mine was cranked down as tight as it would go)
7 hours to go and counting |

Gave up overclocking when I ran my 800 duron at 2 gig went well for a couple of hours then started smoking.

well it got even stranger now, it ran stable at 3GHz last night for 6 hours, turned it off for the night, booted up this morning and it failed the stability test within 3 seconds, i left it for 15 mins over breakfast and then it started to run it properly. So it seems if i let it warm up its more stable??

Weird stuff... I have no idea what'd cause that. Have you tried it at totally stock speeds, see if you can replicate it under those circumstances?
