Considered myself lucky for being there just as they did a 2 for 1 deal?

Its the behaviour wo people with kid/pushcharis/wheelchairs that gets me.

These people should be MORE careful rather than less.

I love living out in the sticks Most of the time I can commute without seeing too many cars, pedestrians? Hmm. Hikers tend to avoid roads.

The only time I see pedestrians even wanting to cross the road, is when I venture into a town. The worst place for me, is super market carparks, and then it's cars not peds.

I commute through Ealing every day and you can almost guarantee that there'll be a lemming stepping out in front of you somewhere near the Broadway shopping centre. They usually ignore the red man at the pedestrian crossing and walk out just as the lights are turning green.
The only place worse than Ealing seems to be Wood Green where they cross anywhere without looking. A 20mph speed limit has been introduced there, presumably to reduce braking distance.

Pop a wheelie as soon as you see them, then they'll be so in awe of your skills they'll forget to step out.

If they still step out it's easier to run them down if you have the front wheel up

It's a win-win situation.

I've actually done that in a shopping centre car park But they didn't keep walking.

What kind of crossing was it? Generally, on light controlled crossings you are not supposed to cross until the pedestrian light is green or the traffic lights are red for oncoming traffic. Stupid pedestrian (and I suspect the one in the wrong).
http://www.highwaycode.gov.uk/01.htm

The car who stopped for them was also stupid in the extreme. Vehicles coming up behind (though they should be paying attention to everything) might go flying past too fast to realize that they've stopped to let someone cross because the light for them is green (could be a break down - no-one likes getting stuck behind them). At which point you could end up with an unfortunate accident with a person in a wheelchair.

I wouldn't have stopped on the bike. Putting yourself in danger when there's plenty of room to get by is not a good idea ("sorry mate, didn't see ya" springs to mind). Problem is, the cars behind might do the same thing and follow u through leading back to the scenario above.

Except for the fact that she stopped to give u abuse, so didn't walk further out to be hit by the next car...

Idiot pedestrian. You saved their lives....

to be perfectly honest mate....i would have done exactly the same thing....pat yourself on the back for avoiding what could have been an horendous situation...your observation was spot on...you avoided all conflict...and got to your destination in 1 piece...10/10 in my book
