Think it's a right pain in the whatsit!
I'm with Virgin media now, been with the same supplier (Blueyonder/Telewest and whatever else it was called) since it was brought out up here years ago, and never had a single problem with the service. The kids on the other hand are now rather annoyed that there are no Simpsons anymore, but there is not a hope of me changing my phone provider and tv package to BT/Sky just to get it back.

Considering what SKY has done to football, I'd be pleased to see them go out of business. So more power to Richard Branson for taking them on, I hope he wins.

Me too, I think Sky have a cheek charging for a channel that shows 20 minutes of adverts every hour.

Sky are going to be the ones that will come off worse hopefully, if this is not sorted very soon then the tv commission will invoke their powers to get it going again. If BT was to do that to the third party companies then all hell would brake loose.

To me it all boils down to Murdoch being a power crazy, greedy son of a b***h. If he was just pulling the service from Branson then that's fair game - going head-to-head with your main competitor, who has recently been muscling in on you business. Pulling his channels from freeview is just taking advantage of the fact that soon digital will be the only option for UK viewers, and he's trying to force more people into pay-per-view so he can rake in the ££££.

Didn't they pull the sky service a week before the subscribtion was due anyway? After all those adverts on sky one I was getting sick of them so I just don't care now.

Ah, but BT didn't pay for its infrastructure, the Government did. I think Sky paid for their share of the broadcasting kit/time on the satellites.

I'm not saying that what he is doing is right, just that it's their business, and they've spent a lot of time & money building it. Along comes Branson, does a deal with his biggest rival, and then tries to undercut him. What would you do ?
