Have you checked for grease(burnt on) on the disc?

Interestingly I was reading the following about used GSXR's in TWO March magazine;
Brakes: The only weak point of the original K1-K2 model. Pads and fluid overheat quickly and the only cure is softer pads and braied hoses. Things improved massively with the K3/K4's radial numbers,although these suffered a little fade - as did the earlier calipers, a brembo master cylinder fixes this. Some K3-K6 models suffer from intermittent vibration from the front brakes at low speeds. It's possibly the sintered pads and is nothing to worry about. Last edited by zunkus; 07-03-07 at 09:50 PM. |

Was that the 750 or the 1000? If I had to I'll guess they were talking about the 1000.
Anyways if those journos actually looked at the bikes they ride, they'll know the 1000 has braided hoses (ok ..the loop over line is braided). ![]() ![]() I'm sure they have a point.... Ben |

The article was about buying used GSXR1000's
I think a change of pads is agood, cheap idea. I'm sure the discs are not warped, they'd show imidiately even at very low speeds. Last edited by zunkus; 07-03-07 at 10:03 PM. |

Would it be contaminated brake fluid? Or a seal on the way out in one of the calipers?
I'm not sure about this. Just chucking a few ideas around.
