By "started it" do you mean, barked at the rott? Or did he actually go for him?
![]() I don't consider barking to be an invitation to start a fight. If that's all it takes to set a dog off, then I wouldn't want it walking where I walk my dog. |

People are the same with my dog (Alsatian). Crossing the road, walking the other way etc.
Its not nice tbh. I know he could do some damage if he wanted to, but in insanctes where he meets another dog, he has never once been the aggressor. And he does look a bit scary, but then if you knew him, you'd never imagine he could hurt anyone. (Sappy but true) Now that I think of it, the only dogs he hasn't gotten on with are the rat types, and they always start it! |

Nooooo..let me thank you
![]() ![]() As everyone has already said ,it's all about training, control and every owner being responsible. It's always nice when there is someone around who has a clue when unfortunate incidences like this happen. I once had a couple of Westies go for my old dog(Staffie) with the owner miles away. The only thing I could do was to pick my dog up. In this instance the owner accepted he was in the wrong and couldn't apologise enough instead of trying to pass the blame. Ben |

My parents jr insists on going for anything bigger than himself, and we know this so he is kept on a lead etc when bigger dogs are around.

I hate little yappy dogs more than big ones. I've been chased by several, on the scooter, on the push bike and on foot. Only a few times have I been run at by a larger dog, and collies have always been kind to me
I still avoid dogs if i can ![]() Matt |

Thats a shame for you. Dogs have such a lot to offer people, young and old. It must be hard being afraid of them because they are everywhere! You would like my lurcher I am sure, he is very very gentle and very calm. The kids can't wind him up and believe me the little blitters try! ![]() Last edited by Tomcat; 09-03-07 at 11:01 AM. |

Little dog syndrome, same as short man syndrome, the smaller ones feel they have something to prove and act up because of it while the bigger dog doesn't give two squats =p
