anytime I plan on 300 or more in a day, I wear long distance underwear
www.ldcomfort.com 400-500 miles of tristies in a normal sunday ride for me, I've done the IBA Saddlesore 1000 several times, and a Bunburner 1500 once steady pace, not particularly fast, is another key to eating up the miles, I stop for 5 mins or so evey hour, and gas stops every other hour last about 10 minutes |

We did a 290 mile day yesterday in all that wind, and it was hard work, but no problems after getting off the bike yesterday or today. Would guess that maybe struggling with the wind you were tenser than normal and maybe more stressed.
A few more long day outs and you'll be fine I'm sure. You don't mention if it's curvy or pointy. I think curvys are a bit more comfortable personally. Shame you can't balance those foreign days out but I guess you have your reasons. 600 miles is a biggie. Most we've done is 580, and that wasn't fun. |

Last year i did plenty of 150 mile rides as i was getting my self ready for our trip to europe. Worked well as the first day of our trip we did 650 miles with no probs at all but i also had been doing streches on a daily basis so this prob stop any soreness

Did 1200 miles in a weekend on my ZX6R in France, Belgium and Luxembourg a couple of years ago and then 600 in a day in France Year before last on my ZX6R. The 1200 mile weekend was really comfy but the 600 in a day was fine until we got back to Dover. From there to Berkshire was horrible....

mm nice undies!!! I will have to think of something for those areas too!! Yep, 600 m is alot, but it's off the ferry and onto our mates house, maybe a stop on route would be a idea, but then we lose a day there. Will have to play it by ear. Like you say a few more long ones in the saddle may help. It is a curvy, and my **** was fine, it was just my back. Obviously I ached in places, but this was pain!!! Have talked about risers .... any opinions? Anyway, if something is easy EVERYONE would be doing it, and where's the fun in that ![]() We usually do plenty of stops (fag breaks ![]() |

If it was windy, perhaps your were crouching more than usual, putting extra strain on your back? A few more long days out will tell you if you need to change anything.

At the beginning of the year I did a ride of about 60 miles, not having ridden since September, and I was pretty sore the next day.
I did some miles on the M4 the other day and I found it very uncomfortable - wind battering me around all over the place - got quite scared at one point when I'd overtaken a coach and when I got in front of it, a wind blast pushed me right towards the outside lane. I'd certainly not like to do many miles on the motorway. Or maybe I need more practice? |
