There were some Poles on the trip to France last time. THe practicalities were, no passport shown to get into France, but needed a passport to get back into UK, I'm sure I saw someone just use a UK driving licence tho'.

yeah that's largely been my experience as well - but don't really want to take the risk of being turned away on the day, or worse being recorded as a 'refused entry'

FF, as Gmonsta said, why not book a trip to france for the weekend...eurostar are doing £45 rtn trips to paris ATM...then try and get the visa for multiple entry for 6mths or so.

Yes please count me in. I shall try to be well behaved but I can't make an promises.

It's not the ticket that's the problem - essentially there are no appointments available at the French Embassy until May, and to get in before that involves paying £100+ to a visa agent (for a visa whch should be free). Makes it a bit pricey for a daytrip!

Fully understand...I used to hate standing in that bloody queue just to get told as you got to the door that they would only see you after lunch which meant waiting in the sun/snow/rain for a few more hours. Glad I now have my British passport. Makes travelling sooooooo much easier!

Where in maidstone is the meeting point? Services on the M20 perhaps?
