How does one clean Titanium? My exhausts are looking a little shabby but not sure what to use to spruce them up. Rest of my bike was sparkling before today's little jaunt.

When I first got my bike it was secondhand bike shop clean. i.e. it was tidy but there were areas that needed attention namely the down pipe, rear suspension and other bits and bobs on the bottom on the engine.
My bike was by no means kwak clean but it was looked after. I found that if you commit yourself to one big clean (set aside a day) and sort yourself out with plenty of cloths, autosol, wd40, muck off, car shampoo (dont use normal detergents as they have salt in them), wax and armor (vinyl and plastics cleaner/protector for the black plastics) and set to work. Now after say three rides I can simply muck off the whole bike, leave it for a few minutes then rinse off. You will be suprised how clean that will keep it. I would also recommend spraying the engine casings with WD40 on a regular basis as this keeps things tip top for a lot longer. One last tip of mine is to get yourself a garden sprayer. These are brilliant for rinsing off as they are powerful enough to remove the muck off and crud but wont be strong enough to blast sensitive areas like bearing casings. It is worth it as in the end when I traded her in for my THundy ![]() By the way, Kwak actual sweats a secret mixture of autosol and WD40. In the summer his bandana has magical cleaning properties. ![]() |

I've just bought a new car so wanted to keep it tip top, found this site;
http://www.performancemotorcare.com/index.html I just can't believe how many things there are out there to wash a flippin' car! The bike cleaning section has some interesting bits though. If this stuff http://www.performancemotorcare.com/...otorcycle.html works as well as it claims to, it may be a good bet.

so some people are addicted to beer, cigarettes, drugs, etc but amazing i have diagnosed kwaks problem and i found it is Autosol. The treatment i recommend for him is to stay away from Autosol and actually go ride his bike instead of just cleaning it. Addiction will be broken in 3-7 days.
