Thanks for the advice guys, i ended up tring the sidi B2's which are the black rains bigger, more expensive brother. They combine the gortex technology with black rain style and add in a little more protection and style. So much for a £100 budget, but i suppose you only get what you pay for

Sidi boots seem to come up smaller than others,so a trip to try some on is a good idea.Another vote for Black Rains as an all round boot.They were about £110 on Ebay,and a fair bit cheaper than that for "worn once but too small"if you shop around.
