done and done mate , literallly as you said it and it will start first time, just the light thing to sort.

Ok, it could be as simple as a bust bulb ... but its a sod to get to the clocks to check

So lets look at the neutral light switch and associated wires ... do you have a Haynes manual??? if not d/l the electrical manual and wiring diagram from here ... http://www.sv650.org/sv_manuals.htm

You basically need to trace the blue wire ... a good intercept point is under the riders seat in the little fuzebox thingy

do you have a multimeter?

already downloaded the electrical manual, not very good with electrics although ive got a multi meter. dont think its the bulb itself cus its been working today .. cheers for your help.
