with mine they basically looked at the bike, said it was still in one piece then gave it back, from the looks of it, there was no change of oil, nothing. I was very disapointed. You get what you pay for I suppose.

600 mile service is very important it includes an oil & filter change & check of chassis bolts & nuts / exhaust bolts and general check over.

You should def have the oil & oil filter changed ..

cheers Steve

the oil and filter should be changed at 600miles? that seems excessive.

Ive jst had my gixxer services and the changed the oil, filter and even exhaust gasket.

Dont know why they do it, think my dad said sommat about there been a load of crap in the oil and filter once everthings been burned off from new. Hence that nasty smell for the 1st hundred miles.

Me too! (Picking up the new bike that is) Don't worry too much about 5000 revs, just take it easy and vary the revs. I don't think the odd push up to 6000 will do any harm. It's the brakes and tyres, as everyone has said. Have a good weekend
