Hmm pretty much 2 atm, but I'm looking in to the gsxr front end mod and a suitable rear shock over the next few months. I'm looking to do more track days on her and lots of spirited A/B road driving, otherwise I'd leave well alone
![]() Std front forks are very soft for hard braking on track and I find the rear oversprung and harshly damped for my weight. |

There is no option, front & rear... because I did both
![]() I voted option 4 (rear) because that was the first "dramatic" change in suspension (read: ZX6RR shock). Then I did the thicker oil, I had already stiffer springs, and the emulator kit... But it still wasn't as good as the rear end... Thats why I did the front end conversion (R1 99). And I am perfectly happy as it is now. ![]() |

There is no option for me. But yes, I'm fairly happy with it
![]() I'd have been absolutely happy on stock suspension, or at least a slightly firmed up front. I'd have been happier still with the Ohlins springs and a 636 shock. But now that I'm used to a really sorted SV anything less feels like riding a shopping trolley. NEVER try anything better when you're happy with what you've got, or you'll never be happy with what you've got ever again ![]()

I think the limiting factor with the stock suspension is me. I used to get my knee down on old 250 strokers, rubber frames, bad suspension, twenty five years ago. The SV is far better but I cant get my knee down. It might be an age thing but it's more likely to be that I have only come back to riding eight months ago after a long lay off.
With more experience maybe I will start to think about upgrades but at the moment new oil and seals seem to be all I need......... |

I had some heavier fork oil put in when the fork seals where redone, and I upped the preload by two (4 ---> 6) to compensate for maria and topbox.
It feels fine to me, for the moment... Matt |

I'm reasonably happy with the standard suspension, although the forks aren't that good. I've ridden lots of sportsbikes and don't think the SV handles badly at all.
