Interesting point, so does that mean any SV that has ever been restricted is on thie database?

I assume then that if anyone hadan SV that had previously been restricted they could go to the original dealer (if Known) with the engine and chasis number and get a duplicate one??

I have found out that there are 2 types of PNC as well, vehicle and person. The vehicle one shows registered keeper, how long they have been the registered keeper, MOT, Tax and Insurance details. also if the vehicle has been stolen or involved in any incidents etc.

the personal one has all your details, address, driving convictions, band, or allowed to drive etc.

so i suppose to that end the cops cant tell if the bike is restricted or not. so if he did get pulled then i doubt he would be asked for proof.

I brought my bike new with 33bhp restriction ecu fitted, the dealer never gave me any proof that it was restricted so i guess if i get pulled they will have to take my word for it or get it dyno'd!!

Personally I'd cross the bridge if I came to it. So long as I had the 33bhp ECU in the machine I wouldn't be worried. In terms of proof of restriction I think being able to produce a genuine Suzuki restricted ECU which could be verified by a dealer would be sufficient.

I had a 33BHP kit on my 550 Katana (which cost me extortionate money back then). I got pulled by the police and given a damn good (and deserved) bollocking for riding without lights on the Motorway. Got a producer and vehicle rectification doc for the light (thing MOT station has to stamp) but not peep about restriction (and they told me how to fix the problem).

Arguing the point another way, what does a bit of paper prove? After all you could certificate, swap the ECU and be illegal. How would that work out if you were stopped.

Basically I think if you are honest and don't prod the animal then it's unlikely to bite.
