I'm not that daft . No pedestrian crossing and it was before the traffic lights on a roundabout.

You can "overtake" a line of traffic as long as you do not go past the vehicle at the front of the queue until you have passed the zig zag lines.

Errr...have posted on this site but a long time ago!!

Anyway, been asked to have a looksie at this..

That stretch of road belongs to SurreyPol.

It is LEGAL to overtake on hatchings bordered by a BROKEN line and any other broken line..

It is construed as an overtake or filtering, both legal in thier own sense.

these vans are predominently operated by Civillians...the police markings assist in the parking of Public highway Police bays.

these vehicles are NOT fitted with emergency lighting and sirens.

I'm quite shocked that the vehicle was used in this manner to impede another road user.

ANY poor driving you witness should be reported....even if it is an emergency services vehicle...

nobody is above the law.

Thanks for your input Porkscratchin. I was a bit surprised to say the least. The only thing I could think of at the time was that he was after the guy behind me. But then why did he point at me, and if he was a civvy anyway what was it all about. I think he was just using the van to boost his ego and preach incorrectly that we should not be filtering. Dangerous and daft driving but not much point in me reporting him as I didn't get the reg.
