That said Lyn, i did save an absolute bundle on some CD sleeves that i bought in bulk 6 years ago. The uk price from the offical imprter was something like £2000. My mate an i bought them from the manufater in the US for i think it was £300 or similar. Even with the duty and VAT, it was much cheaper.
What on earth is so specail about the stuff you have bought form the US dave? |

Nothing much other than I liked the look/style of it.
HG have started to do some of it - but not the whole range - as far as I can tell there is currently no UK importer/reseller. www.rideicon.com is the website, I got stuff from the Timax2 range - Teraza from the Tuscadero stuff. David |

Well... rule of thumb is yes to paying 17.5% on everything.
However, because motorcycle lids are compulsory protective gear, they are zero rated provided the lid meets the specified standard. Kite mark/british standards is one... cant recall right now what t'other is. If the lid doesnt meet either standard... then its standard rated and vat is due at 17.5%. HTH ![]() |

Yep, but that's always a bit chancy, and I think would be considered tax fraud? Not 100% on that. Also remember that if you get someone to underdeclare the value and it's lost in the post, you'll only get the underdeclared value back.
