I was under the impression after reading many peoples thoughts on these that they are pretty good.
Initially it was ok but the stainless rods must have reacted with the brass bushing things as the rods on mine would stick or at least bind and give me a very inaccurate reading?

I found if I tapped the glass the rods would change position. I was trying to balance some carbs that had been apart with little success. So in the end I took it to a place who had a mercury manometer and we checked the differnet readings from them and the carbtune. The carbtune was indeed way off and was giving a varying reading. Proof of the pudding was the bike ran much smoother when balanced using the mercury manometer.

I did contact carbtune to see if I could get replacement bushings etc but they said they didn't have them as the design had now changed. So I think I threw it or its buried in the loft?

Was it the original Carbtune (one) model assume? I'm guessing they changed the design for the Carbtune II, that I've just purchased. Cheers for the reply!

No it was the carbtune II but one of the first ones and they apparently modified the design, or changed the syle of the bushings or something?

I'll be making one of these now.
