The front tensioner is back in after a right fight with it, ended up having to wind it back, put it in and then pin the bugger down with a 22mm ring ended spanner put under the frame as the screwdriver was holding it over to one side too far against that central crossmember. What an annoying job.
Rear tensioner next weekend woohoo!
Whats the most common way for the tensioners to fail, haynes doesnt say what they look like when buggered.

The spring release mechanism will not be functioning properly if it's broken, ie it won't 'pop out' instantly and smoothly. Look for obvious signs of wear and tear upon removal for any serious scuffing marks.
