If you can actually see your files via the PC - yes back them up. Reformatting the drive on teh MP3 player and reinstalling the music files might work (according to that forum I sent the link for). Or it might not.....

That's what everyone else did - you might be able to swap it for the same model but with the new firmware - which seems to fix most problems. Funny - I'd never heard of this MP3 player until I Google'd it! I deffo will not be buying one. Get a Creative V or V+ - good sound, more storage, video and software that works. All in a tiny package!

Depending on your player... there's a chance you can treat it just as a normal computer drive. Find the player on the computer, select all the files and copy them to somewhere on the computer hard drive...

Chances are it's the file system...
When you changed the battery, it's possible that it lost the data on the file system. (Note: The file system is sometimes stored on RAM which needs a very tiny amount of power to keep the data in place, instead of 'Mass Storage' where the music files are likely to have been kept) When you inserted the new battery, it will have probably set-up a new file system, which is blank. What you need to do now you've got the files back, is to format (or just delete all) the data on the mp3 player/memory stick thing and then (possibly using the software that came with the mp3 player if any?) put the music back into the player, which will build up the file system again with the files re-added. If that isn't the problem, the mp3 player is knackered and go and get it replaced under your 1 years warrenty! ![]() Last edited by Steve_God; 02-05-07 at 03:00 PM. Reason: spelling |
