Tec that was one special Lynx with a unique set of blades, the heli doesn't need to out run the bike because it just goes in straight lines and the bike sticks to the road; assuming the South African police use helicopters. It's still a surprise that with no plates he didn't manage to dissapear sufficently for them not to be able to proove it was him

So never sign anything, his own confession was the final nail in the prosecution's case.

I've worked on that lynx, used to be a volunteer at the museum, have had several cups of tea sitting on it's rotorhead!
For the record they stripped it out, used different engines, different tail, different rotors the works. So technically it's not a Lynx that hold the record as it was almost completely different to a standard lynx! |

Brave/stupid boy doing that sort of speed on a South African road, they are not the safest in the world by any stretch can get monkeys and all sorts popping out in front of you.
When we were there you simply had to haggle with the copper. The misses was stopped doing 125mph, in a car mind, pulled over by a second after waving hello at the first copper. Was treatened with a fail to stop and excessive speed, had it reduced to a minor speeding. About £8 to the copper and £16 for the fine. Most of the time cost us about £5 backhander to the standard copper, if you haggle enough. I miss that country!! |
