Chaps, if you want quality at a cheap price.
Just buy a bullet cam from either DogCamSport or 4Kam and hook it up to a DV Cam that has AV input, these are cheap nowdays on ebay.
I'm running a 520TVL 46Kam connected to a JVC DV Cam, quality is great.
I have tried all sorts of techniques and most digital recordable units are just crap.
You either get electrical interferance which makes movie quality swap between black and white and colour and also fuzzy lines.
Even DVD Cams jump, you be suprised.

So highly recommend a DV Cam (remember with AV Input) & Bullet Cam.

It's still cheaper to mount a DV cam to the tank. Those bullet cams are almost as expensive as a DV camera

I don't like having a camera sticking up in front of me though, I'd prefer to have it mounted on the side of me noggin. DV cam on my helmet? You're 'avin' a larf!!

True Razor, but you can hide a bullet cam anywhere.
Just incase you get pulled by the old bill.

If you get pulled over, they would have to arrest you in order to get the needed paperwork to see your video (as you haven't released the video publically by this stage).

Also, you can provide the recording, but they have to provide the equipment to view that recording on.

At the end of the day, you get pulled over, plod notices camera and accuses you of speeding. All you have to say is that the camera hasn't been recording, it's just there for when you want to record If they want proof of this, well, see above.

EDIT: With a camcorder, you have the equipment to review the video at the roadside, with a bulletcam, you MIGHT have the equipment, you might not. It probably won't be on display regardless, so plausable deniability.

But in an accident, you better hope it wasn't your fault, whatever equipment you've got. Lee Sweetland anybody?
