strong pain killers don't always help. I tried allsorts of lotions and potions
It took a year of agony to get into a pain clinic in our hospital before I was diagnosed with a spinal fracture. you can imagine the relief. My gp told me ' you must have pulled something'
Don't get fobbed off.
hope you get it fixed
on the other hand you can always try a chinese lady standing on your back!!

Was gonna say don't worry about the bike being on MOD land as they wouldn't know about the MOT but if the tax is due then good idea to move it, they may consider you a terrorist and just blow it up

Update:_

Three weeks of Physio, pain relief and x-ray later...

Six years ago it was confirmed that I had osteoarthritis in both knees...which I has suspected about 18 months previous.

It has now taken hold of my neck which is a pi$$er because...

The neck consists of seven vertebrae numbered C1 to C7 - the 'cervical' part of the spine. As you probably know, between the vertabrae (except for C1 & C2) are disks of cartilage (this is what pops out when you get a slipped disk). With osteoarthritis, this cartilage breaks down which results in excessive wear & tear on the bones because the protective stuff has gone or is going.

In my case, the x-ray coupled with the syptoms show that there is excessive loss of the cartilage between C6 & C7. This has resulted in 'osteophytes' being produced - little growths or protrusions on the bone. These growths, especially on the vertabrae, have the effect of 'pinching' or snagging the nerves that extend from said vertabrae. The nerves leave the spinal cord and travel through two holes, one on each side of the vertabrae, to do their thing - currently the nerve on the left side exiting from either C6 or C7 has been beasted producing 'cramp' like pain in my left arm and shoulder. It has also produced some loss of movement of that arm. There is currently no bicep reflex and it's painful all the time. In addition, there are obvious signs of degeneration of the disks betwixt ( ) C4/C5 and C5/C6.

So - the cure. Well, as we all know arthritis is the be all and end all really - it's a process that many people go through when they've got it - there is no real cure. There may be a slim chance of having an op on my neck but that's a long way off. In any event, an op won't get rid of the arthritis, it'll just make things easier for a while. There is physio of course which helps - it's surprising seeing how quickly you can see 'muscle wastage' - . There are a couple of other tricks up the sleeves of the medical people but I'm waiting to see a consultant on that for a list of 'options'.

Physio also said "The bike's gotta go". I looked at him. He said "Seriously".
And he was. . So, the plan at the moment it to do nothing until I've seen the consultant - get a firmer way ahead. I'm still riding the bike - there's no increase in pain, but it's difficult rolling it to turn etc, so I'm into precision parking at the moment! Oh - and I did get it MOT'd, and I've just renewed the tax...insurance due in a fortnight . If it's all bad news, then it'll be a case of selling the bike and getting an automatic car ...so I'll have a pain in the ar$e aswell!!

So there you have it - it's official - I'm old and grinding to a h a l ttttt.
Bugga.

Mrs Stingo has stated that she'll be happy to push the wheel chair around.

Yeah - thanks for that!

Anyway, the ship of Stingo ain't heading for port yet - but it has been holed around the waterline

Apols for the long post - but at least it kept y'all busy for a bit.
Laters all. Gonna listen to some Rory Gallagher now. Got a nice Clynelish to climb into this weekend.

That's a bummer, mate. I'll be crossing my fingers for that appointment with the consultant, and do keep us posted.
