my neighbour always goes mad at me for revving my bike and choke.

not cos of noise- but cos of the above-
and he says it shouldnt be run like that when not under load..

he aint happy (mechanically) when I pop it in first and make the wheel go round when its on the paddock stand.!

I thought they did? Depending on the car tickover will be less than 1000 rpm and be in a very low state of tune so it will only raise it by a few hundred rpm. Cars are quiet too, bikes are noisy beasts.

My ole GPz500 had the infamous Kwak choke and would rev the engine to 4000revs from start up. No wonder they were known for having topend problems.

Had to feed the choke in and the Kwak wasn't the best starter to begin with.

Cars also have electronically actuated throttles so the ECU can keep it at the target revs if needed. They have a whole host of gadgetry to make it run nicely which our bikes dont have, well really recent ones are starting to have more of it.

Mine smokes a bit on cold mornings, but I think thats due to a build up of mositure in the can. As once I've been running for a bit it seems to clear up... plus she won't start without choke unless its a warm day.
