£1.02 for my Optimax so the hot hatch is definitely going! I don't mind putting it in the bike but burning expensive fuel like that whilst sat in a traffic jam at 0mph is not happening!

$65 per barrel, but back in august 06 it was $78 so how come...

If I remember back then it was only just heading towards these prices.

On top of that the pound is strong against the dollar so we should get more oil for our pound.

Brent crude is now at $68 so higher prices at pumps are normal.

Share prices for oil companies (BP, Shell, Exxon...) are going sky high, so the prediction is for the cost of oil to go higher in the next few months.

Solutions to this are:

1) stop moaning, start stocking up on petrol now and sell it at a profit later in the summer

2) buy shares in BP now at £5.90 and sell them in the summer at a profit to cover the extra cost of petrol

3)marry the daughter of a Saudi oil sheik

I like your thinking ItalianJob!

Also, nice to see someone else that sees share prices & thinks "Crap, that's going to affect the cost at the pumps!"

The petrol price is high because of the refineries. Basically 20-25 year old equipment running at full production with high sulphur content crude. Stuff is wearing out and the maintenance costs are being added to the refining costs.

There's other economic reasons but Heroes just started so see ya...

I paid 94.9 last night, that seems average here in Norwich - its funny but people will only really start complaining when it his 100.9 - but they wont at 99.9!
