£1500! Out of interest, it wasn't M&S in Newcastle you got your bike from was it? I did hear that there's a new KTM dealer opening in the NW

I bought my bike from their sister shop Kens, Bummer
![]() I looked around and it seems that this isn't a common problem with the bike. You were just unlucky ![]() ![]() |

I havent heard anyone offroading the SM. You need the SE for that and also be about 6 foot tall minmium. I havent hard anyone do wheel swapsies either, which surprises me as the HP2 comes with two sets of wheels. I reckon someone will have put SM wheels on an SE. But then I dont follow things on the orange side so well. The 950SE is a total offroad monster. The KTM rep is based on the singles and they rule there....well maybe not the 640s, but the 950s and 990s seem to have issues, i.e. the big twins. They are temperamental, although the known probs are easily addressed so it seems, they juts need addressing. I'd say based on numbers sold there's more probs with KTM big twins than BMs, but neither are jap bike reliable.
If you are really interested in a big twin KTM look around in Orange Crush on www.advrider.com. |

One of the bike mags stuck a set of track/dirt supermoto tyres on a 950 and went for a play on a motocross track... Apparently it did OK, rode like a really bad dirt bike, which is better than you'd expect... But bashed its exhaust pipes flat

Supposedly handled alright, but as said before it smashed the can pretty good. I doubt it handles like a lightweight single on dirt because of the added weight, but I'm sure it would do alright on dirt roads and minor offroad excursions...just don't try to act like it's a trials bike ![]() |
