we were laughing about that earlier...asked him if he was getting someone to do it for him...no i'm doing it myself came the reply
i thought he was very brave anglegrinders were mentioned and plastics.. between us we painted pictures of exhaust horror. His mother will love him for the change of pipe. I have offered to go down and make her deaf before he fits his!!!

I'm not allowed an angle grinder - probably for the best - otherwise I might have gone through the swingarm too!

Oh yes, it is quite loud - I'm waiting for the complaints from the old dear next door...doesn't help that we live in the middle of nowhere, where the loudest noise is bell ringing practice on a Wed night...oh how peace will be shattered!!!

Heard about people p%%%ing about with junior hacksaws, so made a notch with the air cut off grinder then lopped it off with the 9" grinder! Easy

Also couldn't resist starting it up with just the open collector, and now I can't hear much at all!

(or smell anything either, thanks to dizzy choking me on petrol fumes all afternoon!)

Yeah moved them up at HMS after rob warned me that theyd take a chunk out of my swingarm if I bottomed it out, oopsie.

Yes High level exhausts do point up, right up my nose so it appears!

pat said better to run rich than blow up in france. revs at idle ok too. started first go earlier. must have had crap somewhere. It got left with the sheep on that moor hopefully!! As you did say it appeared to be better later on

Indeed, lean running burns things (usually exhaust valves)
It did stop backfiring so the good blast out must have improved things.
