Oh I dunno, there's a brilliant Civic near mine that has a ridiculously big spoiler, and a shopping list down the side... But instead of the usual list of tuning parts, it's got "Bread, milk, stamps". Now, that's funny.

Most people 'mod' thier bikes to a certain degree anyway - more often than car drivers.

You don't usually buy a house & not change decoration at all, do you?

I think its just people 'making' their ideal bike if they can't a perfect one from stock. Personally though, I would rather spend a few hundred on bling (USD forks etc.) for my SV (when i've saved up a bit) than go out and spend £15K on a brand new 'custom'.

I was seriously tempted when I saw that in one of the bike mags, but don't know where in the world I'll be working in 12 months time so shelling out for a new bike seems a little silly, even though the soul says, "Me want."

I paid £700 for my bike then blew nearly £4k on it, but it was built for a job which it did well and the sale of my injected minitwin nearly paid for it in full, so although its an older bike its a massive improvement over std.
Its also the only bike iv'e ever kept for more than one season, with no intention of selling (good job as ive no idea of value!) and a few plans to improve.

I work on exotic bikes most days and have had a variety myself but the sv seems to 'fit'

We guys are romantic. We think the bike is a person, we love this fun giver so we buy it gifts which in return produces a better bond. Simple.

Ive got full akra race sytem on my sv, bellypan, solo seat, iridium screen, can hanger, polished heel plates, small indicators, K&N air filter, clear led rear light-For that lot i prob paid less than £500 in total

Already had undertray, braided lines,fenda extenda, colour matched hugger.

So i dont think ive spent a huge amount on her, plus shes here to stay with me so i might aswell make her look good.

Blue and myself actually discussed this when he came to collect the phoenix and we both agreed that we would rather have a 'better' bike than, spend a few K on the SV.

That said i can understand why people do it. Prior to its destruction i drew up a large list of stuff i wanted to do to it. However when i worked out how much it woud cost a SS600 just seemed a better investment. I guess if i planned on keeping the SV long term it might be more applicable, but the idea was always to upgrade.

I would rather have a 'uniquie' bike.
