my first ride on the SV was bloody awful..!! i could have cried!!, i fell in love with the looks and heard good things about it, so i bought it, having only ever ridden more upright bikes like the hornet etc etc in the past i rode the SVs 23 miles back from the shop and was in agony when i got off,my wrists ached,my lower back ached, and my neck too, thought id just wasted my hard saved cash on it, but within the week i'd got used to the riding position and now i firmly believe i'll never part with the bike, i may have others but i'll never be able to let this one go i think....

I remember my first ride very well, it was only about 5 wks ago, the only other bike i'd ridden was a Yammy SR125. I bought it privately from an owner near Micheldever and rode it back to my house in Basingstoke, what a blast!
My wrists were agony too and my thighs ached where they were gripping the bike so hard when easing off the throttle, but I'm now getting used to the different riding position, and it just keeps getting better every time I ride

Look out for a blond with a cheesy grin at Alton next week, weather permitting!
If that is you in your little Avatar, you look to have both feet down, why are you intending to get it lowered?!?

So have you been out on it again yet??? Its been a nice day today (Sunday)

Does the Alton thing still go on??? Not been there for years (last time I went was ~4 years ago and it was so over policed it took the fun out of it ).

Sounds a heck of a lot you paid for £15 dogbones and forks dropped through the yokes. £135 per hour labour rate?

Alton is still on. Havent noticed many police the few times I have been this year. I intend to go this week on the SV for a first trip!!

And yes I was out yesterday. Did about 170 miles. Could have done more but my sons needed feeding TSK!!

and yes that is me in the pic and yes my feet do touch BUT! the suspension has been REALLY softened and the forks dropped through, so the rear needs to be balanced with it..

Any of you at Alton look out for me and say hello, I have black/silver Dainese leathers and a pink lid, it's an X reg SV.

Well good luck, given the weather of late I suggest you take some outriggers!!

If it is less policed now (so you get people tooling about) then I'd be up for a visit ... but only when the weather calms down a bit ... I don't see the point in riding all that way then standing round in the wet!!

Glad to hear you are enjoying it. Once you have the front suspension firmed up, I think you will like it even more.
